Cyber Essentials (verified self-assessed)
Cyber Essentials is an online verified self-assessment that helps you assess and align your organisation’s information security posture to the current Cyber Essentials baseline standard.
Obtaining the certification permits an organisation to advertise publicly that their organisation is Cyber Essentials compliant for 1 year from the date certification awarded. Please note: Cyber Essentials must be renewed each year to ensure continued compliance. Performing Cyber Essentials is a good opportunity to take stock of how securely your network is setup, so you can be confident that everything is set up as securely as you would expect. Completing the self-assessment can also help identify oversights in the device/network security and procedures that may not have been considered previously, or even help harden the current system.
Organisations that are certified to Cyber Essentials will automatically receive £25000 of Cyber Insurance if they certify their entire organisation, are domiciled in the UK and their annual turnover is under £20m. You may opt out of this offer.
Cyber Essentials Verified Self-Assessment
